Shams is the founder of Uncommon Records and one of its first signed artists. The label was born from his own experiences as an independent artist searching for a space where creativity is respected and supported.
As both an artist and entrepreneur, he understands the challenges of late-night studio sessions, the desire for a mix that captures the vision, and the struggle to be heard in an industry that often puts numbers before artistry. That perspective is what drives Uncommon Records — a label built by an artist, for artists.
His dual role allows him to bridge the gap between label and talent, ensuring every artist at Uncommon feels understood, empowered, and part of something greater than just a contract.

Malick “The Eight” M.H. has always carried a love for singing — a voice that drew compliments long before it ever touched a studio mic. But it was in Shams’ early studio sessions, while his friend was first learning to mix and master, that The Eight found a place to truly explore that passion in a comfortable and creative space.
The way he felt in that room — supported, inspired, and free to create — became one of the main inspirations for founding Uncommon Records. His journey as the label’s very first artist represents the heart of what Uncommon stands for: giving artists a home where their talent can grow without limits, and spreading that same feeling to others who join the movement.

With years of experience in mixing, mastering, and sound design, Shams ensures that every project coming through Uncommon’s studio meets the highest creative and technical standards.
